Plant derived enzymes. Proteases are a type of digestive enzyme that break down proteins into smaller proteins and amino acids. Some proteases act in the stomach, and others are secreted by the pancreas into the intestinal tract. When taken with meals, Protease Plus acts to help digest proteins from the diet. Taken between meals, it may help digest foreign proteins in the blood and support immunity by possibly activating macrophages and natural killer cells.
