My son, 23 in 2013, went the usual route for ADHD diagnosis in the 90's. He struggled with many medications that have permanently interfered with his eating, focus, activity and sleep patterns. We removed him from all medications during his high school years. It was very difficult for the family. 5 years down the road and he still struggles with the same things. It is hard to grow into the confidence of a man when you feel inherently broken.
